Abstract
Active aging is the process of optimizing opportunities for health, participation, and security in order to enhance quality of life as people age. Determinants of active aging include health and social services, behavior and personal factors, the physical environment, the social environment, and economics. The WHO Active Aging Framework is analyzed in relation to studies on the situation of older Filipinos. The NAST and its partners are called upon to uphold the principles of active aging through science and technology.
