The very striking difference between the two groups of Laguna farmers is the history of exposure to pesticides. Morbidity or the occurrence of illness or abnormalities is used to measure health status. Two health surveys were conducted, and the results seem to show that there were significant differences between the two groups in so far as the hematologic, cardiovascular and neurologic health impairments are concerned. It is to be noted that many of the Laguna farmers did not adopt adequate health safeguards.
