As energy is a critical commodity on which economic growth and development are anchored, it is timely to discuss the sustainability of energy supply. In an era where borders are opening for global competitiveness, a country must have sufficient power to meet standards and drive associated activities. The social dimension of energy demand includes its role in supporting economic and social activities, alleviating poverty, and improving social equity. In addressing energy demand, a country&#8217;s energy choices reflect its environmental priorities.
