FORMAT FOR PAPERS SUBMITTED TO THE TRANSACTIONS NAST PHL<\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

I. Types of Papers:<\/strong> Plenary Papers presented at NAST PHL Annual Scientific Meetings, Original Articles, Review Articles, Feature Articles, Brief Reports, Perspectives, Commentaries, and autobiographical and biographical Essays of outstanding Filipino scientists. A commentary is like an editorial or opinion piece, should be about 1000-1500 words, 1 table or figure, with up to 5 references and can have one or two authors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

II. Paper\/Manuscript Format and Length<\/strong>
Margin: 1 inch on all sides
Spacing: double space throughout the paper Font: 12 points, Calibri or Times New Roman Line numbering: continuous
35 pages maximum, including tables and figures (For original and review articles)
20 pages maximum, including figures and tables for Feature Articles, Autobiographical or biographical Essays of outstanding Filipino scientists
15 pages maximum, including tables and figures for Brief Reports, Perspective<\/p>\n\n\n\n

III. Order and Style\/Format in the Manuscript<\/strong>
Title Page:
Full title (First Letter of Each Word Cap)
Authors\u2019 names (superscript after name to denote affiliation) Authors\u2019 affiliation (superscript in front of affiliation) Corresponding author: email address<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abstract:<\/strong>
A single paragraph, maximum of 250 words; should include 1-2 sentences introduction, objectives of the paper, research methods, findings, and conclusion. No citations are allowed in the Abstract<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Perspective articles, commentaries, and biographical essays may not follow the following parts. For ease in reading, headings and subheadings are suggested.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Headings:
INTRODUCTION<\/strong>
MATERIALS AND METHODS <\/strong>(Not applicable for Review Articles, Commentaries, Feature articles, auto\/biographical essays)
RESULTS AND DISCUSSION<\/strong> (discussion separate from results is acceptable)
CONCLUSION<\/strong>
Subheadings for MM and RD can be First letter only is cap; e.g.

Acknowledgements:<\/strong>
To give credit to those who have contributed to the research project, e.g., funding agency, co- workers, collaborators, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

References Cited<\/strong>
To be sure that all references cited in the manuscript are reflected in the References Cited, it is recommended that the authors make a list of the cited authors (year) per page and then, rearrange them in alphabetical order using the Sort function of the computer. From this list, the Reference Cited list can be made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
